Chillicothe Rotary Foundation Established June 6, 1983
The
Chillicothe Rotary Club is a service organization devoted to the enhancement of
the community in which its members live. These members, recognized as leaders
and trend setters in the professions and businesses they represent, have a responsibility
to financially support deserving causes and concerns of local interest. The local
foundation was established to provide a stable, constantly expanding financial
base and grant award procedure that best enhances our role. This high standard
of service will exemplify our motto "SERVICE ABOVE SELF".
Application
for grants may be requested by writing to the following: Chillicothe Rotary
Foundation P O Box 6357 Chillicothe, OH 45601 Or by accessing our
website at: www.chillicotherotary.com
Criteria for Grant Making
The
Chillicothe Rotary Foundation must select a limited number of projects for support
from many applications. First priority will be given to recurring projects of
the Chillicothe Rotary Club. A major contribution will be made in one grant category
specified each year by the Board of Trustees. Funds will then be made available
to meet one-time grant requests which qualify under the criteria set forth below.
The major grant category will be announced publicly and grant requests solicited.
The following criteria will be used to evaluate requests for grants:
With
the exception of possible Rotary International service projects, priority will
be given to grant requests which have a direct relevance to the territorial limits
of the Rotary Club of Chillicothe, generally Ross County.
Grants
will be made only to organizations having tax-exempt recognition under 501(c)3
of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation makes no grants to individuals, although
assistance ultimately benefits individuals.
The
Foundation is especially interested in supplying "seed money" for new
and dynamic programs; that is, grants to existing groups moving in new directions
or to new organizations. Although such requests will receive priority, grants
which are supportive of on-going activities will also receive consideration.
The
Foundation will give priority to requests for funding of one-time capital projects.
Requests for operating funds will not be considered unless for first year expenses
of a new program. Grants will not be made for political advertising, levies or
annual fund-raisers.
The
Foundation is interested in projects which support overall community needs.
A
request which asks the Foundation to consider a portion of the support for a program
will generally receive greater priority than one that looks to the Foundation
as its only support.
Grant
recipients are required to provide the Chillicothe Rotary Foundation with a full
report of activities accomplished under the grant and a full financial statement
describing expenditures.
